Standard Vinyl Beer Line for Direct Draw Systems & Kegerators
Vinyl beer line is the workhorse of direct draw draft systems. It's flexible, easy to cut, and inexpensive to replace — which matters, because the Brewers Association recommends replacing beer line every 1–2 years to prevent flavor contamination and bacterial buildup.
Available Sizes
- 3/16" ID — the standard for most direct draw applications; 3.0 PSI of resistance per foot helps balance carbonation pressure over short runs
- 1/4" ID — lower resistance per foot; used for high-flow applications or longer direct draw runs where more pressure is needed
When to Use Vinyl Beer Line
- Direct draw kegerators and under-bar coolers
- Short runs from a walk-in cooler to a tower (under 25 ft)
- Jumper lines connecting shanks to couplers
- Any application where barrier tubing is not required
When NOT to Use Vinyl
Vinyl is not BA-approved for long draw trunk bundles. Over runs longer than 25 feet, CO2 permeates through vinyl walls, causing flat beer and carbonation loss. Use barrier beer line for long draw systems.
