Refrigeration FAQ
Kegerator or glycol chiller — which do I need?
A kegerator keeps the keg and a short beer line cold in one enclosed unit — right for direct draw setups. A glycol chiller cools a separate line running from a remote keg cooler to a tower elsewhere in the building — right for long draw systems where the keg isn't right under the tap.
What glycol concentrate should I use in my chiller?
Food-grade propylene glycol only, mixed 35-40% with water — never ethylene glycol, which is toxic and unsafe anywhere near a beer line. Check your chiller manufacturer's recommended concentration before mixing.
