KeyKeg FAQ
Can I use a standard D-system coupler on a KeyKeg?
No — KeyKegs use a different valve design than standard reusable steel kegs and need their own dedicated coupler. A standard D or S system coupler simply won't seal correctly on a KeyKeg's fitment.
Why do some craft and import breweries use KeyKegs instead of steel kegs?
KeyKegs are one-way and disposable, so breweries and importers avoid the logistics of collecting and returning steel kegs across long distances — common for imports and smaller craft producers shipping to markets where a keg return system isn't practical.
