Do I need to cut my bar top before I order, or after?
Order first and cut to the tray's exact footprint — trying to guess the cutout size before you have the tray in hand risks an opening that's the wrong size. Most installers template the cutout directly from the tray itself.
Can I retrofit a cut-out tray into an existing bar, or is it new-build only?
It can be retrofitted, but it means cutting into an existing bar top — more involved than a surface-mount or platform tray that needs no cutting at all. For a retrofit where you'd rather not cut the bar, a platform-style tray is usually the simpler choice.
