Draft Beer Towers

Q: Do I need a glycol-ready tower, or is air-cooled enough?

Air-cooled towers work for short, direct-draw runs where the keg is close to the tower. Once your trunk line passes roughly 15–20 ft, or the tower sits in a warm space like a kitchen pass or outdoor bar, glycol-ready is the safer call.

Q: Does a pass-thru tower require different installation than a standard column tower?

Yes — a pass-thru tower routes beer lines through a wall or cooler panel rather than up from a floor-mounted trunk line, so it needs a penetration point through the panel during install.

Commercial Draft Beer Towers for Bars, Restaurants & Taprooms

A commercial beer tower is the last stop before beer hits the glass. It routes the beer line—and, on glycol-cooled models, the coolant jacket—from the trunk line to the faucet. Choose the tower around your tap count, run length, cooling method and bar layout, then use the product grid below to compare beer tap tower styles, from single faucet chrome and stainless steel draft beer tower options to multi-tap commercial configurations.

Which Tower Fits Your Setup?

Your setup	Where to start	Cooling
Kegerator or direct-draw cooler, 1–3 taps	3" stainless or chrome column (single, double, or triple faucet)	Air-cooled
Back bar, 3–6 taps, cooler close by	4" wrap-around, T-style, curved/European, or mushroom tower	Air-shaft ready (forced-air path) or glycol-ready
Remote tower or beer lines passing through warm space	A tower available in a compatible glycol-cooled configuration	Glycol system sized for the complete run
Taproom wall, 6–12 taps	Kronos wall-mount (glass rinser versions available)	Glycol-cooled
Bar-top centerpiece, 8–36 taps	Metropolis T, H, M, and HH or multi-faucet pass-thru towers	Glycol-cooled (air-cooled pass-thru options too)
Rental, event, or no-drill install	Clamp-on tower base	—
Wine on tap	Wine-ready 3" towers (dual or triple faucet)	Air-cooled

Planning a full system, not just the tower? The Bar Draft System Planner builds a parts list from your tap count, cooler, and run length.

Column Towers — 3" & 4"

The standard choice for direct-draw kegerators and short-run bars. 3" columns cover single-, double-, and triple-faucet setups; 4" columns give you the extra interior room glycol-ready configurations need for the coolant lines alongside the beer lines. Available in chrome and stainless steel, single through triple faucet. Air-shaft-ready towers require a forced-air cooling path. Depending on the cooler, that may require a compatible tower blower plus correctly sized duct or air-shaft components.

Wall-Mount Towers

Multi-tap wall-mount towers (6, 8, 10, and 12 faucets) are built for taprooms and high-volume bars where the tower needs to serve as the visual centerpiece as well as the dispense point. WBP’s 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-faucet Kronos wall-mount towers are glycol-cooled, and several configurations include an integrated glass rinser.

Pass-Thru Towers

Pass-thru towers use a multi-pedestal design that routes the product and cooling lines through the tower body for a clean, high-capacity installation. WBP carries both air-cooled and glycol-cooled pass-thru configurations; confirm the mounting layout and cooling method before ordering.

Mushroom & Ceramic Towers

Mushroom towers (available in 4, 5, and 6-faucet configurations) and hand-crafted ceramic towers are the premium end of the lineup — chosen for craft taprooms and upscale bar builds where the tower itself is part of the design statement, not just a utility fixture. Ceramic towers are made to order in multiple colors and both air-cooled and glycol-ready.

Clamp-On, Brewery Pipe, European & Wine-Ready Towers

Clamp-on towers mount without drilling — useful for rentals, event bars, and portable setups. Brewery pipe style towers give craft taprooms an industrial look. European and curved towers suit upscale bar builds. Wine-ready towers are plumbed for wine and non-beer beverage dispensing rather than standard beer lines.

Air-Cooled or Glycol-Cooled?

Air-cooled towers rely on cold air from the cooler rising up the column — fine for short, direct-draw runs, but they lose ground on long runs or in warm rooms. Glycol-ready towers carry a chilled glycol line alongside the beer line all the way to the faucet, holding serving temperature regardless of run length or room temperature. For remote runs or lines passing through warm space, glycol cooling is usually the more reliable choice. Forced-air systems can also work in properly designed installations, but blower capacity, duct size and run length must be matched to the system. See our glycol chillers & long draw cooling systems for the power pack that pairs with a glycol-cooled tower.

Finishing the Tower Install

A tower is only one piece of the dispense point. Most installs also need faucets and shanks (if the tower ships without them), a drip tray sized to the tower base, and the gaskets, bolts, and fittings in tower parts & accessories.

Draft Tower FAQ

What is a draft beer tower?

A draft beer tower is the dispense point that routes beer from the trunk line to the faucet. It can be air-cooled or glycol-ready, and it comes in styles like column, wall-mount, pass-thru, mushroom, and ceramic depending on your bar layout and tap count.

Do I need a glycol-ready tower, or is air-cooled enough?

Air-cooled towers work fine for short, direct-draw runs where the keg is close to the tower. For remote runs or lines passing through warm space, glycol cooling is usually the more reliable choice — it keeps the beer at serving temperature the whole way to the faucet. Forced-air systems can also work in properly designed installations, but blower capacity, duct size and run length must be matched to the system.

How many faucets do I need on my tower?

Match faucet count to how many beers you pour regularly, not your maximum possible taps — every unused faucet is a line that still needs cleaning every 14 days. Most single-concept bars run 2–4 faucets; taprooms and multi-brand bars scale up to 8, 12, or more on a wall-mount tower.

What's the difference between a column tower and a wall-mount tower?

Column towers sit on the bar top or counter and connect to a trunk line running up from below — the standard setup for kegerators and back-bar installations. Wall-mount towers attach directly to a wall and are built for higher tap counts, common in taprooms where the tower doubles as the visual centerpiece.

Chrome or stainless steel — which holds up better commercially?

Stainless steel resists scratching and pitting better over years of daily wipe-downs and holds up best in high-traffic commercial settings. Chrome looks sharp out of the box and costs less, but it can show wear sooner under heavy commercial cleaning — worth factoring in if the tower will see daily use for years rather than a seasonal setup.

Does a pass-thru tower require different installation than a standard column tower?

It can. Pass-thru towers use a multi-pedestal design that routes the product and cooling lines through the tower body, so mounting layout and cooling method vary by model. WBP carries both air-cooled and glycol-cooled pass-thru configurations — confirm the mounting layout and cooling method for your bar before ordering.
