1 PSI = 0.0689 Bar = 6.895 kPa. Most draft beer runs 10–14 PSI (0.69–0.97 Bar). European/imported regulators are usually marked in Bar; European draft systems commonly serve at 0.8–1.0 Bar. To convert PSI to Bar, multiply by 0.0689. To convert Bar to PSI, multiply by 14.5.

Most draft beers at 36–38°F need 10–14 PSI of pure CO2. Use the carbonation calculator on our tools page for your exact beer style and temperature. For imported equipment that uses Bar instead of PSI, multiply PSI by 0.0689 to get Bar — 12 PSI equals approximately 0.83 Bar.
How many pints are in a standard keg?
A half-barrel keg (1/2 BBL, 15.5 gallons) holds 124 16-oz pints or 165 12-oz servings. A sixtel keg (1/6 BBL, 5.16 gallons) holds 41 pints or 55 12-oz servings. For any other vessel size, divide the total ounces by 16 for 16-oz pints, or by 12 for 12-oz servings.
What temperature should I serve IPA?
IPAs are best served at 45–50°F (7–10°C), sometimes called "cellar temperature." At this range, hop aromatics are more pronounced than at colder serving temperatures. Over-chilling an IPA mutes the hop character significantly.
