Installation Hardware & Accessories for Draft Beer Fittings
A leak-free draft system starts with proper installation. The right tape, sealant, and tools make the difference between a connection that holds and one that fails during service. We stock the consumables and hand tools that professional installers and bar technicians rely on for clean, reliable draft fitting work.
What We Carry
- Teflon (PTFE) tape — food-grade thread seal tape for NPT fittings; use on all threaded gas and liquid connections to prevent leaks
- Thread sealant — liquid or paste sealant for fittings where tape alone isn't sufficient; rated for CO2 and nitrogen pressure
- Flare tools — for creating leak-free flare connections on copper and stainless tubing
- Fitting wrenches — sized for standard draft beer fittings; prevents rounding and damage during installation
- Torque specifications — reference guides for proper fitting torque to avoid over-tightening and cracking
Installation Best Practices
- Always use food-grade PTFE tape on NPT threads — 2–3 wraps in the direction of the thread
- Never use pipe dope or non-food-grade sealants on beer or gas lines
- Hand-tighten first, then use a wrench — over-tightening cracks fittings and causes leaks
- Pressure-test all connections before service — apply soapy water and check for bubbles
